March 2008 Study
The research is based on a 2 year period with over 16,000 studies and finds that students need a systematic basic approach in mathematics and have a strong foundation in their basic facts for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to be able to understand algebraic thinking. The reports reads, "Students need to be grounded in both the effortless, automatic recall of simple procedures and in the acquistion of broader problem -solving skills. Mathematics needs to be taught with consistency and logic." How Just The Facts Works
Then we remove one number in the number sentence for children to use problem solving skills by applying vocabulary, reasoning and automatic recall. Students do not move on to the next level until they have mastered each test with 100% accuracy. Read more in the workshops page.
